| Cuddle Bugs (14 mo - 24 mo) Toddlers are very active and full of curiosity. They need a fun and safe place to express their fascination toward touch, taste, sight, hearing and smelling. Our fully-trained staff has developed learning centers designed to help them learn through their senses. These centers, where your supervised child will be free to roam and explore, will have weekly “themes” to encourage their thinking skills. We will use their desire to copy others toward developing their vocabulary and social skills. During daily group “circle times” we will introduce short finger plays and story time, which will also help enrich these two areas of development. Fine motor skills will be concentrated on in our art room, where your child will have an opportunity to be creative, while being taught basic pre-writing skills. Gross motor skills will be exercised daily during our fitness program, both in our outdoor play area and socio-dramatic indoor playground. Our staff is trained to recognize and work with your child's individual attention span and growth level, while at the same time lovingly encouraging their learning skills. The home-like atmosphere created in these classrooms and the attention your child receives will establish the perfect foundation your child needs. Cuddle Bugs discover their world on a physical level, so it is expected that they will prefer walking, climbing, carrying objects, dumping, or dropping objects to sitting, picking up toys, or playing only in a designated space. In planning for cuddle bugs, our educators are prepared to be flexible and spontaneous. |
